This weekend Twin Elm Rugby Park hosts the National Capital Youth Rugby Festival. All BSRFC Minor and Junior teams will be participating from U8 and up. The Scottish U18 Men’s season got started last Wednesday night with an emphatic win over Outaouais (41-nil). The Women’s Is also had a strong outing on Wednesday with a 55-5 win over the Indians. There is a lot of rugby for the Scottish this weekend as the Women’s and Minor programs get under way and the Men’s season continues into the second week.
Despite the bitter cold and rainy weather, the Scottish First XV have had a strong start to the 2010 season with a 29-0 win over Bytown. While the first half provided entertaining try scoring and offensive displays, it was the defense and unwillingness to break under the Blues second half pressure that was most impressive.
The Scottish Senior Men have started the 2010 season on a positive note with a Cup win at the 2010 Lanark Sevens tournament. Training continues this week on Tuesday and Thursday at 6:30 PM.
BSRFC will be hosting registration sessions at South Nepean Park for Minor and Junior players on the following dates: May 2 10am to 1pm and May 6 5pm to 7pm.
The Senior Men are training outdoors behind Mother Teresa High School in Barrhaven. Training starts at 6:30. Please come prepared with proper rugby boots, shorts, jersey and mouth guard.
