This coming weekend July 18th & 19th Twin Elm Rugby Park will be home to the National Capital Youth Rugby Festival .
This great event is in it’s 12th year and the singular focus of the Festival is to foster the great qualities of our sport – character, skill, sportsmanship, respect, fun, friendship as well as competition – in those players who are the future of rugby. We strongly encourage every participating team to give equal playing time to all of its players and to use the Festival as a fun and developmental event for them. We also encourage every team to create friendships with the other teams at NCYRF. To that end, we have scheduled time in each match for teams to recognize opponents for leadership, skill and fair play, perhaps with a small award, in addition to the traditional handshakes.
The Festival is also pleased to have several visiting teams participating again this year, seven sides alone from the UK and we also welcome even more rugby clubs from FRQ. It is our aim to make the Festival a truly national and international event.
