With the exception of the Old Boys and the newly reformed Old Gals the turning of the calendar to September marks the end of the playing season for The Barrhaven Scottish.
Although most of the headlines go to our Senior Men & Women, the foundation for these programs is only as strong as our Minors and Juniors. As we head towards the Junior banquet which will be held on September 30th, 2015 at the Royal Oak in Centrepointe, let’s take a look back at some of our feeder programs and the players and coaches that drive the Future of the Scottish program and the sport of rugby overall.
BSRFC U18 End of Season Report
Scottish U18 Men finished the season this weekend with a modified tournament finishing off the Irish and the Indians at Twin Elm Rugby Park in typical U18 Scottish style.
The only blemish on a perfect season was a disappointing loss to the U18 Bytown Blues in a “Fight for the League” in monsoon conditions at South Nepean Park. Many supporters surviving the bad weather to witness every BSRFC U18 player put in lifetime performances, pulling together and finishing with their heads held high, proud, as they should be for a true battle on the field.

A big thanks to a few of the BSRFC U16’s who at times were asked or wanted to play up to the U18 level, you did not disappoint and that level of play and commitment should make for an equally talented U18 team in 2016. (Nathan, Gabe, Jojo)
A special mention to Steven Ng, selected for Voyageurs and selected for Canada age group Long List and making his way to BC for training very shortly.
BSRFC U18 2015 Players List : Ben Kennedy(C), Ben Washer(C), Steven Ng, Jonah Larabie, Chase DesJardins, Tyus Irvine, Michael Williams, Hamzeh Abomarek, Jake Janes, Tegan Anderson , Adam Withnall, Jaylon Buwalda, Nate Baclayanto, Thomas Petryshyn, Dawson Fatoric, Finian Cronin , Sam Arami, Damien Riethman, Sean Gormley, Ranvir Dhesi, Matthew DeCesare , Shayne McCrindle, John Mielke, Henry Du, John Collins (injury).

The U18 Season for 2015 will go down as being one of, if not the best Season in recent memory for the BSRFC U18 Men and hopefully the foundations for better things to come.
The BSRFC U18 Men would like to thank the executive/supporters and parents.
Up the Scottish!
With Submissions from Simon Washer U18 Team Manager and Coach.
And so, we come to the end of another successful season for the Barrhaven Scottish U18 junior Women. Congratulations to all of our players on a great season. Our season record of 6 wins against only 2 losses was a great accomplishment. Although we fell just short of winning the league, we will redouble our efforts next season with the goal of representing the Barrhaven Scottish at the provincial club championships
This season we had a dynamic mix of experienced and new players on the junior Women’s team, including a few U14 and U16 players who did an admirable job of playing up for the U18 side. Well done ‘Baby Juniors’. From the first day of training, it was evident this team was a skilled group of players. The team came together quickly and, led by a solid core of team leaders, set a high standard at training and in our league games. Special thanks from the coaches to Bailey Jackson, Jade Desnoyers, and Kelsey Welsh for their fine leadership throughout the season
While the entire team contributed to our success this season, some of the standout performances from the past season included an incredible goal-kicking display from our first-time kicker Kianna Laurin, who accounted for 24 regular-season conversions and one memorable penalty goal (for the coaches benefit I think). The majority of our team tries were set up by the fantastic trio of fullback Deleshia Dixon (11 tries), flanker/flyhalf Maureen Foran (10 tries) and forward Tori Wyman (7 tries). These three players led the way on a team where a total of 19 players from our 24-player roster recorded points

As is the case every year, we have to say so long to our graduating class. The Scottish U18 team extends a fond farewell to our graduating players from this past season (and apologies if I missed anyone); Daniella Ellis, Maureen Foran, Tori Wyman and Morgan Vallati. Best of luck in your future endeavors.
On behalf of backs coach Chelsea Heuff, VP Junior Sonja Hanisch, and myself, thanks for a great season. It is an honour and privilege to work with such an outstanding group of young Women and we’re all looking forward to an even more successful season next year. Well done to all and have a great off-season
