As we reach mid August, the 15s and 13s season come to a close and the 7s season starts. It feels like only yesterday we were prepping for the 15s season and suddenly it is almost all over. Time flies when you are having fun.
It is also a time when we say a fond farewell to our U18 players, some who have played for the club through elementary, middle and high school and who have made friendships that will last a lifetime. As we wish each one of you happiness and success in your next adventure, know also that you will always have a home at Barrhaven Scottish and the Senior teams are waiting with open arms to welcome you back next season. 🙂
Team Updates
Today was the end of the minor/youth festivals at Lanark.
The U12G went undefeated today with great support and superb tackling, especially in a wet and cold first half of the day.
Our two U12B teams showcased everything they learned this season in four games each. The boys showed how much they have improved as individuals and as teams and should be very proud of how far they have come.
The U14G also finished their season undefeated at Lanark. Hard work by all the athlethes to close out the season strong.
The U14B finished their season in style with an end of season festival at Lindsay. In a celebration of 13s a side rugby they played Brock and Ajax/Cobourg. And in a true example of the rugby spirit in the region, a few of the U14B joined the Ospreys to finish out the 10 a side season at the regional festival in Lanark.
Forty practices, 16 games and festivals and 3500km travelled, it has been a remarkable season in which the dedication of all involved has shown through.
Congratulations to all the U12 and U14 players and coaches, you have had an incredible season and we are so proud of you all.
Well done also to all the players who took part in the EORU U17 games against NRU in Cobourg today. Congratulations on taking your rugby game to the next level.
