What a week!
After a weekend where both the U16 B and G won the EORU Cup, Tuesday night saw the U18G win against Kingston to become EORU Cup champions. Huge congratulations to all. Tuesday also saw a number of our club at TERP meeting and interacting with the Canada Women’s team which was a great honour.
On Thursday the U18B faced their final cup game against the Blues and emerged victorious, which was fitting as it was the last game many of our 2007 boys will play. We wish them all well in their next adventure.
Friday was spectacular, to see so many BSRFC shirts at TD Place and bear witness to an incredible game of rugby made my week. There were so many smiling faces and memories of a lifetime were made as we watched our heroes perform.
Finally, Saturday, where the U6-U12 graciously gave up their field time and moved to the baseball diamond to enable the EORU U15 G and Bs to play their first tournament. Congratulations to the 11 girls and 8 boys who were selected, BSRFC has a strong cohort in this age group. The U14B also played host to two visiting teams and thanks to everyone who organised the games and the BBQ. I once again had so many people say how well everything was run and complimented our club.
We also had the honour of sending off the Women’s team to the Rugby World Cup and it was so great to see the stands packed for them and to have more chances to sit beside these incredible athletes, talk to them and hear their inspirational stories. Special thanks goes to John for setting up the fields and Erin for organising everything, it is great when our community comes together to do something so special. Thank you all.
