This was an exciting week for our 2008 and 2009 players who took part in the first O’Neills challenge cup, a 3-game series between the BC bears and the U17 provincial squads.

Lauren, Maggie, Naomi, Fraser, Adriano and Isaac were selected as part of the U17 EORU teams who combined with TRU to play the first interprovincial game against BC on Tuesday evening in Brampton. Both games were intense and hard fought and our players did really well in teams that were formed that evening.

On Saturday, Lauren and Fraser returned to Brampton as they were selected for the Ontario Blues All Stars teams (TRU, EORU, NRU, SWRU). The girls won their game 27-12 and the boys won 43-12. Excellent results and so proud of both players for their tremendous efforts.

I have also started to see our U18 leavers and senior men and women named to university and college squads across the province and across the country. It is wonderful to see you continue your rugby journey and we wish you well for the season ahead.
