Hello Scottish,
A quick reminder to all members, of the upcoming Special General Meeting (SGM) to discuss a proposal to change the Club name. We are only two weeks out!
During our Annual General Meeting (AGM) before Christmas, the Executive Board acknowledged ongoing discussions and opinions of various members of the Club, which included the desire to rebrand the Club and change the name back to the Ottawa Scottish Rugby Football Club, in order to better reflect its membership as a whole.
A motion was tabled and approved to convene a Special General Meeting (SGM) at 11:00am, on 9 February 2019, at the Royal Oak Centrepoint.
This SGM will be an opportunity for all Club members, in good standing, to meet and debate all points of view with regards the proposal to rebrand the Club and change the name back to the Ottawa Scottish Rugby Football Club. As this is a very important motion and will have an impact on the Club and its members, all members are encouraged to attend the SGM to discuss the question. Any member of the club who registered during the 2018 season (1 May 18 – 31 Apr 19) and the club records reflect they are in good standing, may cast their vote when any debate has concluded and a vote is called. Proxy votes will be accepted, if registered with the executive prior to the debate.
The question that will be debated and voted on at the SGM is:
Should the current Club name of the Barrhaven Scottish RFC, be changed to the Ottawa Scottish RFC?
Yes or No?
