I have officially transitioned to the world of university rugby and it was great to see the stands at the UOttawa GeeGees vs Carleton Ravens games full of BSRFC supporters, watching a significant number of BSRFC players take to the field coached by our very impressive BSRFC coaches. My Saturday nights have got a lot more entertaining 🙂
Team News
This weekend was the second Fall 7s competition with junior teams entering the Whitetail and Bellwether competitions. Congratulations to U18, U16 and U14 boys and U18 girls who were the Champions of Whitetail 7s!
U16 girls who had two competitions this weekend winning the plate at the Bellwether 7s on Saturday followed by runners up at the Whitetails 7s on Sunday.
U14 girls who were third in their respective competitions at the Whitetail 7s.
A huge shout out to Crewe Hennebury (U18B) for reffing nearly every every U14 boys game. Thank you.

Important Dates
- Rowan’s Law Day: Wednesday, September 30. The last Wednesday of every September is designated as Rowan’s Law Day to honour Rowan Stringer’s memory and raise awareness about concussion safety.
- EORU Branch Qualifiers: Saturday, October 3. Due to the recent fire at Twin Elm, the EORU branch qualifier has now moved to Rowan’s Pitch. If you want to watch some great 7s rugby, U14, U16 and U18 boys and girls will be playing for a place at the provincials. Schedule TBD.
- Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure: Sunday, October 4. We encourage all members to consider donating or joining the team to take part in this meaningful event. Let’s come together as a club to honour the memory of all those affected by cancer and show the strength of our rugby community. We will be collecting funds at both the Branch qualifiers and Old boys came so bring your cash or donate online. To join or support the team, please visit the website.
- Old Boys take to the field: Sunday, October 4. We are hosting two games:
- 12:00 Lanark/Brockville vs Barrhaven Scottish
- 1:30 Senators vs Kingston
- Canada vs England, 7 pm KO at TD Place: Friday, October 23. Get your tickets!
