On Saturday June 6, the Coaching in Schools portion of the Rugby Canada grant wrapped up with a Try Rugby event as part of the Ottawa 200 celebrations. We had nine participants from all ages and they had so much fun, thanks to Fraser, Thomas, Evie, Sam and James for volunteering.
I want to thank Adele who was the super organiser of this program and dealt with all the administrative duties. I also want to thank the 4 coaches – Arjan, Tom, John, and Logan who visited 3 schools and provided non-contact rugby sessions to over 350+ students over 8 days. We are incredibly grateful for your willingness to volunteer and we are delighted that it has resulted in players joining the club after their introduction to the sport.

The Senior Men had another convincing win over the Beavers while the U14 Boys and Girls kicked off their season at Twin Elm today. The boys ended up with a draw against the Blues and both teams won against the Irish. Well done to all.
We have a busy week at Rowan’s Pitch next week June 13 so come out and watch some great rugby.

SAVE THE DATE – Club Day – June 20 and 21
Every year we host a community event to celebrate our teams, showcase the sport, and host multiple matches. On Saturday June 20th we will have games for U16 and above, while the morning of Sunday June 21st will be showcasing the U12 and below and the afternoon will be U14 and our U18 will be hosting both men and women touring teams from Wales.
It is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a club and celebrate all that makes Barrhaven Scottish special so save the date and I have added a draft schedule as we are still awaiting confirmation from some teams.
