What another Super Saturday!!! The Senior Women continue their winning streak with a win against the Wolves while the Senior Men 1XV and 2XV won their away games against Lanark. Next Saturday, June 6 sees the first home game of the season and it would be great to fill the stands at Rowan’s Pitch. KO id 2 pm for 2XV against the Blues and 3:30 pm for 1XV against the Beavers.
This weekend also saw the U14 boys travel to the Hamilton Hornets for a pre-season tour facing Guelph, Waterloo and Hamilton. The boys played with flair and passion on the field and a well-structured team led to 3 dominant victories. The tour also provided for some good bonding moments off the field for both athletes and parents.
Congratulations Sharon
Huge congratulations goes to U16 coach, Sharon Priestman, who won the first responder, Chief Thomas G. Flanagan Award for Advancing Access to Youth sports.
In her acceptance speech, Sharon spoke of BSRFC as “an organisation that truly embodies what inclusive sport should look like. All players are welcomed and the Barrhaven Scottish actively support the development of coaches to grow the game of rugby and make it accessible to anyone who wants to participate.”
This award celebrates the outstanding volunteer work of first responders in youth sport and recreation and we are so lucky to have Sharon leading our coaching team.
