BSRFC President’s Report – March 21, 2026

I hope you are all enjoying March break and getting the chance to relax and have some family time. It has been a great week following the Instagram stories of the U18 G&B as they travelled through Northern Italy, playing 3 games and experiencing warm hospitality, what a fabulous tour for all. Safe travels home everyone.

This week, Drew Willis, John Dingwall and I will be meeting with Wilson Lo, Councilor and Deputy Mayor – Ward 24 Barrhaven East to discuss the future possibilities for both Ken Ross Park and the community building, as the seniors will be vacating the space within the next 5 years, and there is an opportunity to reimagine that space. We have been asked to come up with ideas of what we would like to see there so that we can be at forefront of any discussions and align on any partnerships for future development. This is just the idea stage, nothing has been promised by anyone, but it is exciting to think of the possibilities for the club and the community. If you have any ideas you would to contribute please contact Drew or John at futureplans@barrhavenscottish.com. Also, if there are any architectural designers in our membership who would be interested in helping with design consultation or design software, we would love to have you on board.

Sponsorship and Fundraising

We are always looking for new sponsorship or fundraising ideas to reduce costs and provide the best possible rugby environment for all. If you would like to promote your business by sponsoring the Barrhaven Scottish RFC Programs in 2026 and beyond, we welcome the chance to discuss how your support can be tailored to meet your company’s goals, but our key areas of focus include:

  • Promoting health and wellness in the community
  • Fostering youth development and life skills
  • Increasing local brand visibility
  • Serving as a responsible corporate citizen

Join us in building stronger communities through sport — sponsor the Barrhaven Scottish RFC programs. Contact John Dingwall (equipmentmanager@barrhavenscottish.com) for more details on the variety of sponsorship packages.
