What a glorious weekend of weather and rugby. On Saturday, a number of our teams attended the second EORU 7s House competition hosted at Rowan’s Pitch. This new initiative is designed to bring clubs together and energize grassroots rugby across Eastern Ontario and from all the photos on social media, it definitely achieved its aim.

Saturday also saw a number of our U14, U16 and U18 boys and girls play for Eastern Ontario at the Bellweather 7s tournament. All teams did incredibly well and we congratulate everyone involved.

Finally, Sunday saw the last game of the season for the old boys against the Senators and it was a joy to watch. Everyone played with sheer happiness and it reminded me of what rugby is all about, lifelong friendships and a community that is there forever.

Congratulations

We have two huge congratulations from one household this week:

  • Johanna Dingwall, U18G coach has been awarded Rugby Ontario Female Coach of the year. This is so well deserved as Jo has been integral to the growth of the girl’s program over the last decade and this year was tremendous for the U18 team. We are so proud of her.
  • Grace Dingwall (U18G) has been awarded Rookie of the year for the UOttawa Gee-Gees. Grace has had a phenomenal season and we are incredibly proud of her success.
