Old Boys Rugby

“I’d rather bust than rust” is the motto of the Barrhaven Scottish Old Boys Rugby Team; that and “the older we get the better we were”.

The B.S.O.B’s the most senior contingent of the Barrhaven Scottish RFC is comprised of players 35 years of age and above, who give it all on the pitch and who look to pay it forward while passing it backwards.

The team was re-formed in 2012 and plays a full fixture schedule of games against teams from Ottawa, Brockville, Kingston, Belleville and beyond.

The Old Boys succeed through inclusion, including back-filling other squads, and drawing in athletes from all sports regardless of their experience in the game of rugby.

In 2014 the B.S.O.B’s went on tour, forging an international relationship with the Freeport Rugby Football Club in the Bahamas, not just a great chance to get away from a harsh winter, the two clubs have worked to improve their respective communities while engaging youth to get involved with the game of rugby.
