What a fabulous day at Twin Elm for the U14, U16 and U18 teams to host the NDG Dragons Rugby from Montreal. It was wonderful seeing so many faces back from winter hibernation and ready for the season ahead. Special thanks goes to Melissa Fitzgerald for her awesome organising of the BBQ and to the band of mighty volunteers, it is what makes the club so special.
On Friday evening we saw representatives in both the EORU U19 men and women playing their 3rd interbranch game against TRU. On Saturday, a number of our senior men represented EORU as they travelled to Halifax for the away game against the Privateers. It is great to see the club represented at this level.
Canada vs England Ticket update
I received an email from Rugby Canada last week asking the club to sign up for group tickets for the game so I am hoping to receive a link from them this week and will share as soon as I have it.
Important Dates
May 23: First away game of the season for Senior Men (Blues) and Senior Women (Ospreys). We wish them the best of luck.
June 6: Barrhaven Scottish Rugby Football Club has been selected as a Sports 200 Hosts for the weekend of June 6 and 7, celebrating Ottawa’s 200th anniversary through sport. We will have a Try Rugby Day at Rowan’s Pitch on June 6, more details to follow.
Save the Date: Club Day – June 20 and 21
Every year we host a community event to celebrate our teams, showcase the sport, and host multiple matches. On Saturday June 20 we will have games for U14 and above, while Sunday June 21 will be showcasing the U12 and below.
It is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a club and celebrate all that makes Barrhaven Scottish special so save the date and I will have more details and a schedule next week.
Have a great week,
Anne
