What a fabulous weekend of rugby, I spent all Saturday afternoon at Rowan’s Pitch and it was fantastic to see so many players and spectators having such a great time. My quote of the week was from a spectator who said, you know a club is doing well when everyone you see is smiling and no one is complaining. It is thanks to the efforts of so many that we can put those smiles on everyone`s faces.
Please note, there have been bylaw officers at Ken Ross park on both Saturday and Sunday this week and they are enforcing the rule that it is a no dog park. You will be asked to leave or face a fine if you remain with a dog at the park, so please take note.
Team News
The Minors and U12s participated in the Ospreys and Blues opening festival today. The soggy day didn’t dim the enthusiasm of the athletes nor their fans. With 8 teams entered in the festival, they represented the Scottish well.
The U14 and U16 boys and girls had a very busy weekend and put in dominate performances in all games. The Senior teams continue their unbeaten streak and it is great to see their numbers grow week by week.
Club Weekend – June 20 and 21
Please volunteer – sign up now!
It is just 6 days until Club weekend and everyone I meet is really excited to see all our teams play. You can see the schedule so no excuse to miss any of the games!
Highlights This Year
- Calabogie Brewing Co. will be on site Saturday with a range of beers and ciders
- The Royal Oak will be serving up a great BBQ for everyone on Saturday
- The Old boys are playing not 1, but 2 games and have a full squad!
- Every BSRFC team will be represented this weekend and every able bodied member will have a chance to play at home.
- We will host the largest minors and U12 festival in the province
- For the first time, we are hosting U19 Boys and Girls touring Welsh teams on Sunday and we will have a mixed U18/first year senior teams.
It is really important that everyone contributes and so we are creating a volunteer sheet that states the requirements from each team, we are hoping that both team members and their parent/siblings/friends/fans will step up and help out. Many hands make light work and our community thrives. I will be sharing the sign up sheet tomorrow and your coaches will have more details at practice this week. Amanda will be coordinating with the minors and U12s. If you can’t wait for the sheet, feel free to email me with your availability and I will ensure you have a volunteer position.
